Hunting the red leaves — Momijigari

A forest immersion experience inspired by the soul of Japan, to welcome autumn through the senses, movement and wonder of the colors of the forest.

Momijigari literally means "crash to the red leaves": not a collection, but an invitation to explore the wood carefully and amazement, letting itself be surprised by the leaves that change color. In particular, maple leaves — Kaede — they were and are among the most admired. Their name means "hog hand", due to the characteristic shape of their leaves.

In ancient times it was told of a delicate way to contemplate them: approach your hand to the leaf, welcome it in the palm and let it free to float, palm to palm. This will be the spirit with which we will enter the woods: without taking, without rushing, but learning to recognize, observe and celebrate what comes to us.

During the experience we will experience forest immersion practices, listening and presence, including:

🍁 Momiji kagemai
A dance of existence with the brightly coloured trees. A playful, deep and delicate practice, inspired by Kagemai, a modern Japanese form of training. No experience is required: only the willingness to play, meet in the forest and, together, become forest.

🍁 Momiji ochakai
Every gesture, accomplished in the presence, becomes rite, offering.

A sensory and convivial moment to share the resonances of experience and greet the wood sipping a cup of green tea.

A slow time to breathe, listen, move and let yourself be crossed by the atmosphere of autumn.
