Hanami means "see the flowers". Going to admire the flowers is a recreational activity beloved throughout Japan, a real social rite that mutated mutandis has been repeated every year for more than a millennium. Hanami par excellence (but not the only) is that of cherry blossoms, Sakura .. It is the triumphal moment, short and intense, of maximum expansion of the season, and contains in itself the beginning of its decline and change in the following season. Taking a time dedicated to it, looking at the flowers, eating them, smelling them, touching them, immersing themselves entirely in their delicate atmosphere with a walk or picnic, is a way to celebrate Life in its caducity and participate in its beauty.
