FOREST BATHING AL MONTE SAN FRANCESCO

Mount San Francesco in Pertica is a relief of 794 meters s.l.m. and is located in the municipal territory of Varese, above the village of Velate. At the mountain there are still the foundations of a twin tower of the so-called Arians Tower. In the Liber Notitiae Mediolani of the priest Goffredo Da Bussero, compiled in the second half of the thirteenth century, besides the church of S. Maria del Monte and its altars, is officially documented for the first time also a "in monte de Velate ecclesia Sancti Francisci", whose first indication of existence dates back to 1228. It seems that the convent was founded by the Franciscan friars who had known Francis of Assisi when he was still alive.

I find at 13.45 in Piazza Santo Stefano, Velate (in front of the church).
Take the path 9 along the path in the forest, uphill, which requires experience on the way (the slope is constant for about 45′). After a transit to the archaeological site where the practice will take place, you will take the asphalted road that leads to Santa Maria del Monte (Sacro Monte di Varese) and will descend to ring along the avenue of the Cappelle, until the crossroad that leads to the starting point.

Needs: adequate clothing, boots, sticks. Bring water, personal first aid kit, various and possible.

An insurance policy against outdoor accidents is invited.
